We got to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary in Paris! It was dreamy. We travelled from London to Paris via Eurostar on our actual anniversary and spent the day eating lunch at La Petit Cler, getting the most delicious éclairs ever at L’éclair de Genie, taking photos at the Louvre & the "Love Lock" Bridge, eating crepes at the Eiffel Tower, and taking a boat ride down the Seine. See... dreamy!
The next day we ventured out to Normandy and Mont Saint Michel. I highly recommend this and I highly recommend doing it through a tour guide. It’s a lot to see and the best way to get around to each site is by car with a driver.
We ended the night with a visit to Laduree. Macaron LOVE! These are so tasty, you must try them!
The next day, we had a day-long anniversary date--just me & Mr. Neill ☺ We slept in, did laundry, went to lunch down the street, bought a fun souvenir, took pictures of Notre Dame and visited Saint Chapelle. We people-watched at a café and napped at the Tuileries Garden before heading to an amazing dinner. It was a day for the books!
Our last stop was Versailles. We took our time touring the estate, biking through the gardens, and ate magnum bars on the lawn. It was perfect. We ended our time in Paris with a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower--an absolute must for your time in Paris!
I have great recommendations on where to stay and eat from this trip!
Stay: Grand Hotel Leveque Paris: Great location, clean, reasonable pricing, & great service
Eat: Anywhere on Rue Cler (conveniently where the hotel is located)
Do: You may have noticed we didn’t do a lot of touristy things actually in Paris since this was a return visit for us, but here’s some things we have done before that I highly recommend. Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Eiffel Tower (worth the wait to go up if you never have--you can also plan ahead and buy tickets before your arrival in Paris), Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Sacre-Coeur, Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle & Versailles (definitely buy your ticket before & arrive as soon as they open or come late in the afternoon).
